Class Behavior Management System
Each student will be responsible for managing his/her behavior using a pocket system. Each student will have their own pocket with a green, blue, yellow, orange, and red card. Students' cards remain on green as long as they are following class rules. If students break class rules, their card will be changed to the next color. Students may lose class privileges, Monkey Money, or be separated from the group as misbehavior occurs. A blue homework/conduct folder will be sent home daily with the color indicated on the calendar inside. Parents will initial each day and discuss their child's behavior for the day. Students will have the opportunity to earn Monkey Money for appropriate and excellent behavior. Students may use Monkey Money to purchase items from the treasure chest at the end of the week.
Homework Procedures
A blue homework folder will be sent home each day with a weekly homework assignment sheet. Please refer to the homework sheet each day to study for tests and complete assignments. All homework is due the following day unless otherwise noted on the sheet. Homework is essential practice for material taught in class. Please assist your child with their homework, but do NOT do it for them. Written homework should not take more than 30 minutes if students are working at an appropriate pace. Daily reading practice from the reading book or library book should be completed as well. Each child should read at home for at least 15 minutes daily to ensure adequate growth!
